Lets get to it: This is a COMPLETELY ORIGINAL GUITAR all electronics, pots, pickups, etc are original. The knobs we believe are the original ” Bakelite” material so far as we can tell (tried the tests we found online) the numbers and letters have the greenish hue to them and they have the “three pronged” back to the knobs. The tweed case is in very nice internal condition, all latches/hinges work well and cosmetically looks great (could use a good cleaning). This guitar is a Southern California Guitar all it’s life so has been in a good dry environment, always stored in its case. THE ONLY ISSUE: The guitar body was repainted around 1975 because it had some chips and belt buckle scratches from gigging. Aaaaahhhhhh, a big bummer but aesthetic only. Dave took the guitar to Fresno Guitar Center to determine if knobs were indeed Bakelite and to make sure all was good since it hasnt been played in years. All those who inspected the knobs concurred that they were “most likely” Bakelite. Evidently the Strat made quite a stir among the staff and patrons. Dave allowed one of the employees to play her and a small crowd gathered. When the employee was done playing he gleefully stated that this guitar has exceptional classic sound! He went and grabbed a new Strat and played it for comparison and told Dave, There IS NO comparison!
