In fantastic condition and sounding incredible, this all solid wood Taylor 716ce has seen very little use since new in 2008. The finish is like new with only a couple of very minor lower bout dings (see photo). I cant detect even a bit of fret wear. The Taylor premium case still has plastic covering the brass plate. The action is very nice and it has new Elixir custom lights installed. This is the only 716ce I have seen with rosewood binding added to a very thin line of the normal ivoroid, which gives it an even warmer look. Photos have quite a few reflections that may look like flaws, but they are not. The finish is in very new condition and it is very difficult to get pix. One outdoor photo of the back is just to show how reflective the guitar is without scratches, etc. The rosewood/spruce cutaway 700 Series 716ce Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar unleashes a potent all-around sound with deep bass, meaty midrange and equally thick trebles, delivering impressive balance across the tonal spectrum. Players with a dynamic picking or strumming attack will love the responsiveness to both a light and heavy touch. A warm Vintage Sunburst top and neck complement rosewood’s chocolate hues, while creamy thin line ivoroid with Indian Rosewood binding outlines the body, fretboard, headstock and soundhole, and also is used for the neo-traditional Heritage Dot fretboard inlays. A Venetian cutaway gives it a steeper slope on the treble-side of the fretboard with greater access as well. Taylor’s proprietary Expression System acoustic electronics deliver exceptional amplified tone in a reliable plug-and-play package. The Grand Symphony shape joined the Taylor line in 2006 and delivers a rich, powerful acoustic voice. Think of it as a Grand Auditorium with a turbo boost, thanks to expanded physical dimensions, including a slightly wider waist and a bigger lower bout. Strummers and pickers with a driving attack will love the fullness, volume and sustain. Yet for such a robust voice, the GS is also clear and responsive to fast picking runs or a light fingerstyle touch, so if you’re a dynamic player, this shape is a true contender. And the big voice doesn’t come at the expense of balance. The piano-like bass, meaty midrange, and thick, shimmering highs blend seamlessly. These traits also make the GS a great vehicle for 12-Strings. If you like a lush, potent guitar tone that has the horsepower to compete with other acoustic cannons out there, the GS shape is a worthy choice. The 716ce features one of the most popular and traditional guitar woods of all time, rosewood, which takes the basic sonic thumbprint of mahogany (which has a strong midrange) and expands it in both directions.
