Description : Beautiful 2003 Gibson. Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Reissue in excellent (at least 9.5/10) condition. All original with no changed parts, though the original pickups were removed, stored in the case and later reinstalled. I have included many detailed photos that illustrate the cosmetic condition much better than any written description. Structurally and functionally, this guitar is perfect. There are no breaks, repairs, cracks or significant cosmetic flaws. All of the electronics and controls work flawlessly and the neck is straight and true. I have provided a close-up photo of the one significant finish imperfection – a finish chip on the edge of the peg head face. It looks worse in the photo than in person. There is no damage or denting to the wood. The surrounding paint is secure – not lifting or chipping. The frets are original with no visible wear or indentations, smooth with a big profile as is the norm on this model. The fretboard is dark and nicely figured, but, according to the available records and based on the serial number, it is not Brazilian. The neck is chunky, measuring 0.940″ thick at the 1st fret and 0.102″ at the 12th, measured just in front of the fret. Weight is remarkably light for a non-weight relieved Les Paul at just over 8 1/2 lbs. ! They still had some high quality light weight mahogany in 2003. The original Gibson hard shell case is included. Unfortunately, there was no Certificate or other “case candy” included, so I don’t have these items to pass on to the new owner.
