2005 Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop! The folks at the Custom Shop pulled out all stops to make this amazingly exact replica of Rory’s fabled stratocaster. Rory’s strat was hand delivered. To the Custom Shop by Rory’s brother Donal and this guitar is the result. Apparently it was the first stratocaster to appear in Ireland. Body and neck are typical early 60’s start style. Alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard. Has bone nut, 21 Jumbo frets, and 3 custom wound sixties pickups. A whammy bar is included, as pictured, and works great although Rory himself never used one, at least you now have the option. Beautiful original custom hardshell case is included along with the certificate of authenticity. All original case candy is present and accounted for! This particular guitar weighs a nice, light 7 pounds 14.2 ounces as measured by my digital postal scale. You could be the first! There is no visible fret wear and the neck is in perfect shape. Nice professional set up. This guitar is ready to gig! I got this one in 2005 as soon as they were available. And now it can be yours. As you can see, she has gone through a heavy relic process to exactly replicate Rory’s guitar. Originally a sunburst finish, the finish has almost all been sanded off to look just like Rory’s. The wood is free to breath and it feels wonderfully smooth to the touch. Same goes for the neck. This guitar is a great tone machine and is very versatile. Not just Rory type fire breathing tones but also great for clean sounds. One of the coolest guitars I have ever owned, and I’ve owned quite a few. It will definitely be missed! Also, I can’t help mentioning that Fender took the extra care to duplicate the one mismatched Gotoh tuner (the other tuners are Sperzel) as per Rory’s original and also they have placed a single mismatched clay position dot on the 12th fret. You’ve gotta love their attention to detail! Note: I have added a couple of photos in response to a request to show condition of first five frets. I hope this helps.
