Offered is a 1973 Gibson SG Standard and a terrific deal! The parts are well wworth the asking price however this guitar plays and sounds fantastic and ready to rock despite the repairs. It has a cherry finish which has faded to a light brown more so on the front side of the body. The good is it has an original case, original (see last pic) and electronics dating to 1973, original pickguard, bridge, tail piece, knobs, body and neck. The neck on these is an ebony fretboard and feels and plays exceptional. The frets were just leveled, crowned and polished. The bad is at one time in its life the guitar took a spill and there is a repair to body by the control knobs and had a headstock repair. Both repairs are solid and cosmetic only. The pickups are Golden Age PAF humbuckers from Stew Mac and sounds outstanding. Serial number in tact along with Made in USA on rear of headstock. It appears when headstock was repaired there is some overspray on the rear of the neck to blend in the repair and a little bit on the front side. The case is original and one of the hinges is broke, replace leather handle and some of the latches are broke but the guitar sets in there fine, protects the instrument and you can use the case for transport. Action is low and fret buzzing (fret Job just completed). All in all some old wood that’s a player grade with repairs and a lot of original parts that plays and sounds great.
