Here for sale is this Stratocaster electric guitar. I’m not entirely sure what parts are original Fender and what aren’t. Its been made to look like Dave Gilmour’s’the black strat’. 2006 Fender 57 reissue 60th Anniversary Maple neck. Black finish solid wood body – we are unsure about the origin of this – possibly Mexican and possibly original to the neck as its such a good fit or possibly after market or possibly a Fender USA 57 reissue body. I showed this to my repairman and he, like me thought it looked like a Fender body going off the neck pocket stamps but they are hard to read, it doesn’t seem to be Mexican as it doesn’t have the usual circular jig holes, it does have the’hockey stick’ route. Its black finish over red so possibly it has been refinished at some point however its a very clean job and my repairman reckoned it was a’factory finish’. At times there have been different scratch plates on the body and there are extra holes under the scratch plate due to this. 3 ply black scratch plate. Aftermarket replacement we think. Alnico pickups with staggered bevelled pole pieces with blue, yellow, white and black cloth wire. Alpha pots and switch. Fender stamped saddles needing USA size 0.50 hex key for the height adjustment screws. The trem insert has been sleeved and a very odd short (a la Gilmour) arm that pushes in is included. I don’t know if the sleeve will come out to reveal thread or if it has been drilled out. Odd scrathplate screws, some chrome, some nickel. Plenty of pics below to demonstrate the above. The body has some marks and signs of use but is generally clean , the scratch plate has some pick scratches and the frets have some wear but not too bad. The strings are new 10s and the action is good but you may wish to tweek the set up to suit your style. As you can tell from the above we have found it hard to find out exactly what this consists of apart from the obvious. It all seems to be decent parts and the price reflects this.
