These models have a Gibson sku which start with the letters’CQ’. CQ stands for’Custom Quote’ and they are special orders that do not fall in line with any other Gibson Custom Shop sku. They are small limited runs of very unique guitars. Pic 12 is a “Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul’60 Worn Antiuqe Gold (serial) 01042 ” and is another from this run. These “Worn” models were the precursors to the new painted over and aged guitars Gibson Custom is now offering. Now that this is hopefully clarified for all those doubting the veracity of this guitar we can move on to the description below. This’57 GT Reissue is from a limited run of’Worn’ Gold Tops done in 2011 and is 100% factory original, down to the solder, as it came new from Gibson Custom. These models were sprayed with clear nitro over the wear areas so no bare wood is exposed. The maple top shows some light birdseye figure in wear area. Excellent condition with some normal dings and play wear. Frets show no wear. 92″ at the first fret and 1.02″ at the twelfth fret. The neck has a nice D shape indicative of’57 Reissues from this period. This LP weighs in at just under 9 pounds on my digital scale. The mini humbuckered R7 option was limited to 2011 models. This was a very limited run and this specific guitar is the only one I’ve encountered with this’worn’ appearance and mini humbucker specs. This one is a dark back and the color is deep rusty red modeled after the Billy Gibbons’Pearly Gates’ signature model. These mini humbuckers can really nail the Tele on steroids tone. Includes all case candy shown and Certificate of Authenticity. Ships in the’Gibson Custom’ Black w/maroon interior OHSC. Bonus points for the 5 digit serial number. Just like they did it in the’50s!
