1969 / 1968 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop. Incredible Original Condition & Beautifully Maintained. Here’s what I know about her. The’ONLY’ non – original part of this guitar are the frets; done by pro luthier 5 years ago. Has ever been removed, replaced, redone, re-soldered, refurbished or re – whatever. NO Monkey Business here. 68/69 Goldtop LP’s are rare and at the time, were reissues of the 1956 / 57 Goldtops; they were made for only 8 months from July’68 to March’69. This guitar is part of the Oct – March build and probably finished in February of’69 given the 558 serial number, larger LP custom headstock and electronics dated December 1968. All other features are identical to my’57: one piece neck, one piece body, long neck tenon (pic), body routed with the maple top not glued on (little shelf in the volume pot pic), P-90’s, deluxe Klusons, stunning old growth mahogany, maple & rosewood that is black like ebony & of course, an incredible’natural’ relic that makes a vintage guitar one of a kind. 1 7/8 at the nut; 9.05 lbs; medium’C’ shape neck – between vintage chunky and Les Paul Custom narrow. Plays by itself, intonates perfectly, no buzz, tonally sweet & smooth then rips your face off….. Case is also original, fully intact, works perfectly and is in superb condition. Very good deal for a guitar of this vintage, originality, craftsmanship and condition. More pics available upon request.
