1978 Japanese-made Ibanez Artist model 2619. Pains me to sell this beautifully-made 43 year-old guitar, beloved especially of Andy Partridge of XTC – ebony fretboard, abalone inlay, gold and sustain blocks for bridge etc. See final screenshot for a detailed description. A couple of historical bruises not me! And scratches but pretty much nothing on the front. A couple of historical touch-ups on lacquer (also not by me). The binding seems to fail on a lot of these but mine is excellent. The frets are something like a medium jumbo and must have been replaced very nicely at some point. No wear is visible and I wondered whether they might be stainless – no idea how to tell. Anyway, intonation, action etc all great. Very loud and sweet through an amp. The pickups have been replaced by a previous owner with later reissue Flying Fingers & they sound great to me, esp in the middle setting. The mini switches give full, single and’out of phase’ settings. Each has good potential for use and with the main switch gives many combinations. The speed knobs are original. Nut replaced because the old 1/2 & 1/2 was useless! I think is 1 &11/16 and neck profile is what I’d call a decent C shape, like a pre-’65 Gibson or current Reverend. No structural damage and the original white plastic Velve Tune keys (as used by Frank Zappa) were replaced recently with Wilkinson Grover-style as the originals are iffy for tuning stability. No drilling is required and they are inside the new Gator Gibson-style case. Bought for this sale. I replaced the strap buttons with (I think Gotoh) as the original ones had been changed.
