The guitar was created in 1994, exactly 100 years after Orville Gibson began making instruments. This guitar was built to commemorate that milestone. The guitar is styled after Orville Gibson’s famed archtops. It features an arched spruce top, oval soundhole, mahogany back, and ebony fretboard. The top is inlaid with a beautiful butterfly, made from abalone and pearl. The original guitars/mandolins made by Orville would often feature this butterfly in the same position beneath the soundhole. As mentioned, this is the only one of these guitars in existence!
