This guitar has light playwear – and is in pretty nice condition. The top is clean and glossy with just a few light indents and some light haze where your arm rests. The back has some light clear coat micro scratches – see pics below. The neck is straight and the frets don’t have any significant playwear. No headstock breaks or repairs – she has the original 490R & 498T pickups as I recall, volume, tone, 3 way. All the electronics work well. She has a 60’s neck profile and weighs 7.9 lbs on a digital scale. Here’s some details. GIBSON introduced the LES PAUL DC STANDARD (LPS2) in 1998. The Les Paul DC Standard is a double cutaway version of the arched-top Les Paul with two humbucker pickups, similar to the Hamer DC design from the 1970s. The DC Standard has 24 frets, single master volume/coil splitter and tone controls and’60s-style slim taper neck profile. Some suggest that these newer 24-fret carved top doublecut Les Pauls were Gibson’s response to the success of PRS in the 1990s. The mahogany bodies on the Les Paul DC Standard were chambered for weight relief and capped with carved figured AAA maple tops. Production of this model ceased during 2000 and resumed again in 2001. The double cutaway body is made of mahogany and features a bound AAA flame maple top. The mahogany neck features a 24.75 inch scale rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays and 24 frets. Gibson 490R and 498T humbuckers deliver killer tones. A Stopbar tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners keep it rock solid. This example is finished in a gorgeous blue lacquer.
